About
Katrina Sluis is an artist and writer based in London where leads the BA (Hons) Digital Media Arts at London South Bank University. She was recently appointed the first Curator of Digital Programmes at the Photographers’ Gallery, London.
Her recent writing has been featured in journals including Photographies, Philosophy of Photography and ArteEast. In her own practice she works with photography, video and text to explore materiality, archiving and transmission in relation to the digital image.
Recent presentations have included "Four Polemics on Photographic Theory", The Photographers’ Gallery, 23rd November 2011 & "Photography: Medium and Method Symposium" Lancaster University, 15th June 2010.
She is currently working on contributions to "Exhibiting Photography" (ed Shirley Read, 2nd Ed) and "The Blackwell Companion to Photography" (ed. Stephen Bull).
